Saint Paul Johnson Senior defensive back Kierre Rhodes dominated two high-level camps over the weekend, and should have put himself squarely on the recruiting radar. Rhodes impressed at both the RAS Camp in Angola, Indiana, and at the Nike Football Training Camp in Champaign, Illinois.

In this era of Youtube videos and the various recruiting sites it's hard for top prospects to escape the watchful eyes of college recruiters, but Saint Paul (MN) Johnson Senior defensive back Kierre Rhodes has done that.

Rhodes, 5-foot-9, 170-pounds, dominated his position at both the RAS Camp in Angola, Indiana, and again Sunday at the Nike Football Training Camp in Champaign, Illinois.

Saturday's camp in Indiana was attended by college coaches from the likes of Iowa, Indiana, Wisconsin, Notre Dame, Eastern Illinois, and others, while the exposure from Nike speaks for itself. Hopefully, Rhodes will have college scholarship offers soon, because he clearly out-played prospects with offers.

"I need to go to every camp and combine out there, so I was thrilled to have the opportunity at both of these fine camps," Rhodes stated. "I think I did really well both days, and I tried to take every rep I could. Other guys were tired and skipped reps, so I took theirs. I can't afford to get tired, because nobody knows about me. I relied on my technique and relied on God."

"I think I was better at Nike, even though I won the MVP at RAS," he added. "I gave 100% yesterday, but I wasn't satisfied with my performance, so I stepped it up today at Nike. I was pumped up going against all these guys with big-time offers."

"I tried to show my technique was sound," he said. "My strength is getting in and out of my breaks, and beating receivers to the spot they want to get to. I can jump well, so it doesn't help to try to throw the football over the top of me."

Surprisingly, Rhodes currently holds no scholarship offers, but that could be changing soon. He is a fine student in the classroom.

"Recruiting is going slow for me right now, but I'm not getting down at all," he explained. "I do not have any offers, but I have schools showing interest. I'm hearing from Minnesota, Illinois, Eastern Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin, Indiana, and a few more."

"I plan on going to camps at Minnesota, Massachusetts, Iowa, Illinois, and probably a few more," he continued. "I know I have to prove myself and that's no problem for me. I'm willing to go anywhere I have to to try to earn a scholarship."

EVALUATION: Rhodes is very similar to Michigan commit Jourdan Lewis is size and athletic ability. His one-on-one cover skills are superb, and his hip flexibility is outstanding. He is extremely competitive and fights bigger wideouts toe to toe, often winning battles with his advanced technique. Rhodes must have taken over 50 reps over the two events, and kept coming back for more.
