The Adidas Sound Mind Sound Body Football Academy started as a charity event for Detroit youths and has grown into a camp attended by top prospects from around the country, and one which college coaches can attend.
Throughout the history of the camp, top prospects have come, gone, and went on to become top flight college players and even NFL Draft choices like Nick Perry. This year, the talent pool is again very deep.
The University of Michigan will have several guys committed to them attend the camp. Quarterback Shane Morris, offensive lineman David Dawson, cornerback Jourdan Lewis, tight end Khalid Hill, and wide receiver Csont'e York are among the expected attendees. Notre Dame will be represented by two committed guys, offensive tackle Steven Elmer and Jaylon Smith. Smith and Morris are both five-star prospects.
Other Big Ten commits include Delano Hill (Iowa), Kenton Gibbs (Illinois), and Josh Jones will be a teammate of one of those two by then in all likelihood. Florida commit Cameron Dillard and Central Michigan pledge Joshua Cox will also attend.
Other top prospects include 4-star defensive end Joe Mathis, coming in from California. In the 2014 class, defensive end Malik McDowell, Minneapolis Washburn running back Jeff Jones and several others with offers lead the way.
