"I went down to Miami's camp on Sunday and it was a great experience," Troy McCollum said. "We did some position drills and then some 1on1 drills. It was fun. I thought I did good." McCollum, 5-foot-10 and 175 pounds, is being recruited by the hometown Hurricanes but is still waiting for an offer. "Coach McDonald was telling me how they'll be having meetings this week and I should know by the end of the week whether I'm getting offered based on what I did," he said. "I'm just waiting to hear from them on that." If the Canes offer, McCollum would be very interested. "I grew up watching them and it's close to home," he said. "They're a great program but a lot of great programs are recruiting me." The standout cornerback prospect has a half-dozen BCS offers right now and lists four schools as being atop of his list of favorites. "My top ones are FIU, UCF, Illinois, and Ole Miss," he said. "They've all offered me and I like the coaches and like what they're saying." McCollum also claims BCS offers from USF, Mississippi State, and Indiana. He's one of the top cover corners in Miami Dade County for the 2013 class.
