Toledo head coach Matt Campbell received two pieces of good news Friday when he received commitments from Huber Heights (OH) quarterback Javon Harrison and Toledo Whitmer defensive tackle Marquise Moore.
Moore, 6-foot-1, 275-pounds, recently impressed in Illinois at the Nike Football Training Camp, and is a physical, tough, inside run-stopper. He explained his decision to commit to Toledo.
"I did commit to Toledo," Moore stated Saturday morning. "There's no place like home and the coaching staff treats me like I'm family. I love Coach (Eli) Rasheed, Coach (Louis Ayeni) Luke, and of course Coach (Matt) Campbell."
"I think I'm a great fit for their defense and I think I will see the field a little earlier than expected," he continued. "I'm still going to keep my options open, to be 100% sure Toledo is the right choice for me, but until then I'm a Rocket."
As a junior, Moore helped key a defense that led Whitmer deep into the Ohio State playoffs.
