Griffith Lands Hoosier Offer, Nears Decision
Isaac Griffith came into today holding a handful of offers, but is ending today with the one that may ultimately stand out from the rest, as the Indiana Hoosiers were impressed with today's camp performance he put on. "It feels really good," he said. "It's always been a goal of mine since I was a little kid to go play BCS football for a Big Ten school and having the chance to be able to do that now feels really great." It was not just the physical abilities evident on Griffith's tape which lead the Hoosiers to the offer, but also some of the intangibles he showed at the camp today. "We did the camp and after the camp, they had a team dinner for the campers and Coach Wilson told me 'I have to talk to you and your dad after camp is done.' Then he said we're looking for guys who are going to compete and win games for us and that's why we're going to offer you. He said, 'you could come in, compete, win games, and that's the biggest thing we saw today. We looked at you, your competitiveness and we want to offer you a scholarship." Griffith camps at Northwestern on Tuesday and is done with camps from there. As a result, a decision should not follow long after. "I'm probably going to plan on deciding, most likely in the next few days or next few weeks." And in that decision, will the Hoosiers be tough to beat? "I believe they will. The thing with IU was, I feel like they've been one of the most honest schools for me in my recruiting process and shown a lot of interest in me and made me feel like I was at home when they were with me. They'll be a tough team to beat. There are a couple others out there, but they're up there."
