Kerr talks about 'Canes pledge
Jeremy Kerr (St. Petersburg, Fla.) made his college decision yesterday, as this future Hurricane tight end committed to the University of Miami. "I committed yesterday morning," Kerr said. "I love that they are local. I love the coaching staff and I feel very comfortable there. Coach [Al] Golden has that program headed in the right direction. Then you have the ‘U'. That just speaks for itself. I am so happy I made this decision. I know I made the right one." Kerr, 6-foot-6 and 245-pounds, also plays defensive end. Many feel Kerr could grow into an offensive tackle. "I am going to Miami and being recruited to play tight end there," Kerr said. "I play in a ‘Wing-T'offense so I don't do much catching of the football. But I can catch and I am very physical. I can put a hat on people. I am a tight end that can block and catch. In fact, I just went to the Miami camp to show them how well I can catch the football. I may not have the numbers in high school but I can do it." Kerr also had scholarship offers from Wake Forest, Purdue, UConn, and Memphis. "I could have held out and gotten more scholarship offers," Kerr said. "But why wait around. I had the one offer I wanted and that was from Miami. So why wait?"
