Jalen McDaniel had been a heavy N.C. State lean for quite a while. On Friday, the Jack Britt High (Fayetteville, N.C.) wide receiver made it official, when he committed to the Wolfpack.
“It was just the right place for me, they wanted me first and stuck with me,” said McDaniel.
Several factors went into McDaniel’s decision.
“I can stay home and I feel like I can play early,” he said. It is also a good team that is on the rise and I have a big brother there in M.J. Salahuddin.”
What role does the Wolfpack coaching staff want McDaniel to fill?
“I am going to play in the slot,” he said. “They just want me to make plays.”
The coaching staff played a major role in his decision.
“They were always there, but never pressured me to commit. They let me see what else was out there, but in the end N.C. State was where I wanted to be.”
McDaniel is commitment No. 8 for the Wolfpack in the class of 2013. McDaniel also had offers from Clemson, East Carolina, North Carolina, and Wake Forest.
