McQuay talks leaders
Super safety Leon McQuay (Seffner, Fla./Armwood) has three leaders. It appears this trio is in very good standing with the nation's No. 7 safety prospect. "I like Michigan, Vanderbilt and USC," McQuay said. "It's likely I will pick between one of those schools. Oregon, Clemson and Notre Dame are all still hanging in there. If I stayed in state I would likely go to Florida but right now it looks like I am leaving for the state of Florida." McQuay, now 6-foot-1 and 195-pounds, looks much bigger and thicker than last season, when he recorded 66 tackles, four interceptions (returning two for touchdowns) and one fumble recovery for a score. McQuay has had a chance to visit Ann Arbor and Nashville but he has yet to see the Trojans. "Man, it was great up at Michigan," McQuay said. "I love the coaching staff and fan base. The stadium is awesome. Michigan has everything you can want in a school. I visited there this spring. "I love the academics at Vandy and the coaching staff. They are such an up and coming program. They are so appealing. To do something a little different and go there is very enticing for me. "I haven't been to USC yet. I am not sure when I will get up there. Maybe it will be for an official visit. Monte Kiffin is recruiting me. Monte Kiffin. That's kind of crazy to me, to think he could be my coach after all those great players he has coached." McQuay is a four-star prospect and the nation's No. 93 recruit in the Scout.com Top 100.
