Introducing: Cameron Fogle
Much of the talk at Conner High (Ky.) has circulated around junior quarterback Drew Barker, and rightfully so. But rising senior Cameron Fogle is starting to pick up interest as well. Cameron Fogle is one of the better athletes in northern Kentucky, but he has flown under the radar until recently. Now there are a handful of schools that he has camped with, plans to camp with and is hearing from. "The schools I'm hearing from most are Western Kentucky, Eastern Kentucky, Kentucky and Ohio has come into contact with me a lot recently," said Fogle. "I've been to camps at Ohio, Western Kentucky, Kentucky and Cincinnati. I camp at Ohio State on the 23rd and possibly with Eastern Michigan on the 27th," Fogle said. So what are these schools seeing when they see Fogle in person and on film? "I would say that my strength as a player is my speed, my agility to make the cuts I make and I feel like I'm stronger than almost anyone I line up against," Fogle said. Fogle felt he performed well at the Kentucky and Cincinnati camps. "I feel like I performed well at the camps. But in my opinion, I've done best at Kentucky and Cincinnati. I was told that I caught the coaches' eyes while I was at UK and UC." Fogle is also spending time working on improving his blocking. And while he ran a 4.48 forty at the Kentucky camp recently, he is still trying to improve his speed and get into better shape. "I don't want to leave the field this year," Fogle said of improving his stamina. Fogle believes he's nearing his first scholarship offer. "I feel like I'm close to landing my first offer. I was told by Wofford to come down to their school and if I perform like I did at Kentucky, then I'd most likely get my first offer," Fogle said. "I feel like Eastern Kentucky is close too. Western Kentucky told me to keep in contact with them because they are very interested," he continued. Last season Fogle rushed for 716 yards and 12 touchdowns. He also caught 38 passes for 431 yards and three more touchdowns. Defensively he had 32 tackles, three interceptions and one fumble recovery.
