Wilson Focused On Three

Defensive end Mark Wilson is one of the top players on one of the best high school teams in Virginia. After a big junior season, Wilson picked up several scholarship offers.

Phoebus High School in Hampton, Va. is in the midst of a dynasty. This fall, the Phantoms will try to win their fifth straight state title. Defensive end Mark Wilson (6'3/210) will play a huge role in the team's quest for a championship.

"I have offers from Illinois, Syracuse, Purdue, Northern Illinois, Western Kentucky, Delaware, Old Dominion, James Madison, and Hampton University," said Wilson.

Wilson believes he is closing in on offer No. 10.

"The one that I feel could be next is Virginia Tech, that's my favorite school hands down," he said. "They told me that they just want to see me bulk up and add more weight. I think Maryland and Duke are also close to offering,"

Three schools are standing out for Wilson.

"Virginia Tech, followed by Maryland and Old Dominion are my top three," he said. "If Virginia Tech offers, I will commit on the spot. If (Virginia) Tech or Maryland does not offer, I am headed to Old Dominion."

Wilson is looking forward to a big senior season.

"I want to win another state championship and be defensive player of the year in the state of Virginia," he said.

Last season, Wilson had 70 tackles and 12 sacks. He bench presses 315 pounds, squats 455, and runs the 40-yard dash in 4.7 seconds.
