Maryland athlete Richy Anderson is the latest in a line of local prospects to decide staying home was the best fit.
The 5-foot-11, 180-pound Anderson, who plays at Gov. Thomas Johnson High (Frederick, Md.), became the 10th member of Maryland’s 2013 class when he committed Thursday night.
“Officially a Maryland Terp!!!” Anderson announced via Facebook. His commitment was confirmed by Scout.com.
Five members of coach Randy Edsall’s class are from Maryland, and three others play in Washington, D.C.
Anderson also held offers from Boston College, East Carolina, Rutgers, Temple and Wake Forest. He was being recruited by schools to play running back or receiver.
