Ball State continues to add to their 2013 class, picking up Waukesha West kicker Steve Drida this week. The 6'0, 184-lb Drida says who he will be working with come college played a huge role in his decision.
"I really liked the coaching. I like Coach Lustig, who's going to to be my coach. I like the philosophy, what they stand by: togetherness and family. I like all of the coaches, and the facilties are nice too."
Immediate playing time was also a factor.
"I will be competing with the guy they have now. I have an opportunity, if I beat him out, to kick as a true freshman."
Drida says rather than wait through the season, he wanted to jump on the offer to a place he felt very strongly about.
"It's nice to secure that spot. It really helps that I had such a great program to come to and that I was able to be recognized by them. I have a teammate, Connor Stefanski, who's a year older, who's going to be there. It's nice to anchor this down and put the focus on my high school season."
