One of the top quarterback prospects in the Midwest has decided that being #1 on one board was better than being #3 on other boards.
"I committed to Indiana," said Mike Vlahogeorge. "Indiana was the first to offer and after all the camps I attended this summer, Indiana was the place that I felt was the best fit for me.
"Notre Dame, Tennessee, Michigan and Purdue all told me that I was #3 on their quarterback boards and I was #1 at Indiana.
"It's beginning to be a trend for quarterbacks to go to Indiana. Both Coach (Al) Borgess and Coach (Gerry) DiNardo have very good offensive reputations.
"Indiana had their last two quarterbacks drafted in the NFL. Indiana is a great place and I'm comfortable with my decision."
Vlahogeorge, a 6-foot-4, 220-pound, gunslinger from Lafayette (Ind.) Jefferson threw for 4,285 yards and 37 touchdowns as a junior. His stock took a little tumble this spring because of lack of foot speed but he makes it up with his arm strength.
This is a very good get for Gerry DiNardo and the Hoosiers.
