Austin MacGinnis made the most of his visit to California for the Sailer Top 12.
Aside from kicking amongst the elite kickers nationally, he also committed to Kentucky.
McGinnis savored both experiences.
“It’s been a great experience, to get to compete with the best in the nation, and against your peers,” said McGinnis. “Chris Sailer is a great coach and I got to learn from him.”
McGinnis said he’s excited to be able to kick in the SEC.
“Going to Kentucky, every day in the SEC is a grind and any team can beat any team on any given day,” said McGinnis.
With last year’s regular season tilt between LSU and Alabama largely decided on special teams play, McGinnis said that is becoming a priority to SEC coaches.
“They’ve been spending the scholarships on quality kickers instead of just having them walk on,” said McGinnis.
McGinnis said he will focus on kicking but will be the emergency punter for the Wildcats.
