Two years ago Spencer Atkins was a wide receiver and linebacker for St. Thomas Moore High School in Champaign, Ill. Last year he was a full-time student at the IMG Academy. Now, Atkins is at Palmetto High School in Florida and he's the starting quarterback.

"It's been interesting but I think I have a chance," Atkins said. "I am already getting some interest but teams really want to see me play this fall. But this is all exciting and I have been working hard at it."

Atkins, 6-foot-2 and 200-pounds, camped this summer at UCLA and Rutgers. Last this month he will head to Florida Atlantic.

"I am already hearing from Illinois," Atkins said. "That would be nice, to go back home. Jacksonville, Louisiana-Lafayette and FAU are some others that are interested. It's just starting for me and I know I have my work cut out for me."
