Here is a look at the top offensive players from the Midlands region who will perform at Nike's The Opening in Oregon.
Scout.com's complete coverage of The Opening 2012 presented by NIKE
OT
Jake Raulerson
- Celina HS (Texas) -Texas Commit
Has always stood out on the camp and combine scene, but this chance to show it with the pads on will be right in his wheelhouse. Tanacious is a good word to describe him.
QB
Tyrone Swoopes
- Whitewright HS (Texas) -Texas Commit
Plays on a small stage in high school, but should be used to the big stage by now. So far at the major events he has started off slow to then come on very strong at the end.
RB
Ezekiel Elliott
- John Burroughs HS (Mo.) -
Ohio State
Commit
Will not get the chance to run over anybody, but will be one of the more impressive specimens. The future Buckeye won RB MVP honors at the Chicago NFTC.
S
Kameron Miles
- West Mesquite HS (Texas) -
Tennessee
Commit
A safety prospect who is packed in to the frame of linebacker. He does play downhill from his safety spot, but has quick feet which allows him to stay strong in coverage.
WR
Corey Robinson
- San Antonio Christian HS (Texas) -
Notre Dame
Robinson shed his sleeper status with a strong showing at the DFW NFTC, where he earned Scout.com All-NFTC honors. Long and smooth possession style receiver.
WR
Eldridge Massington
- West Mesquite HS (Texas) -
USC
Massington just keeps getting better. He has great straight line speed and is fearless about going up in the air to get snag balls. A true deep threat who will stretch the field.
WR
Jacorey Warrick
- Cypress Falls HS (Texas) - Texas
A slick receiver who operates most effectively out of the slot. He is quick in and out of his cuts and has long arms that he uses to catch the ball where DBs can not knock it out.
WR
Jake Oliver
- Dallas Jesuit HS (Texas) - Texas
An interesting receiver. Runs good routes, which makes him tough to cover, but is also strong. Could play inside or outside. A devastating blocker in real games.
WR
Ra'Shaad Samples
- Dallas Skyline HS (Texas) - Undecided
Coming off of a foot injury that he suffered at the DFW NFTC (where he was on his way to MVP honors). If he is ready to perform he will be one of the treats to watch.
Will be announcing his decision.
WR
Ricky Seals-Jones
- Sealy HS (Texas) - Undecided
The number one player in the state of Texas is the ultimate weapon. He is a huge target who can run good routes, has strong hands and will put up possible NFL combine times.
WR
Torii Hunter
Jr. - Prosper HS (Texas) - Undecided
A well-rounded weapon. He is silky smooth and has the ability to contort his body to get in to a position to make tough catches. He does this effortlessly.
