- The Midwest's top prospect, Ty Isaac, will be in tonight. He was not there for the SPARQ testing this morning.
- His chief challenger for the crown, Notre Dame commit Jaylon Smith, ran his forty in the 4.5's and as usual, looked athletic and fast during testing. He weighed in at 210-lbs.
- Other standouts in testing included Ohio State commit Ezekiel Elliott, who ran a 4.42 in the forty, and Iowa commit Delano Hill, who ran a 4.44, impressive for a kid his size. Penn State commit Ross Douglas turned in good numbers in each of the testing stations. Ohio State commit Jayme Thompson turned in a 4.52 forty. Fellow future Buckeye Cameron Burrows clocked a 4.57. Michigan commit Jourdan Lewis ran a 4.68.
- One of the few uncommitted prospects here from the Midwest is Crete-Monee (Ill.) receiver Laquon Treadwell. The buzz is that he is coming close to a decision. Treadwell told us that he's not sure exactly when he'll announce a choice, but did say it was possible he would have something at the school. It is not likely he will announce anything while in Oregon.
- Michigan commit David Dawson has created quite a buzz with the possibility of him camping down in Florida. However, today, he said "it's just a camp," and said Wolverine fans shouldn't have anything to worry about.
- One of the newest Clemson commits, Avon (Ind.) defensive end Elijah Daniel, says he's solid with his commitment. He said he wouldn't completely close himself off to other schools, but is very happy with his decision. He weighed in at 250-lbs.
- Wisconsin's newest commitment, Indianapolis North Central defensive lineman Darius Latham measured in at just under 6'5 and 292-lbs. That's good weight he has added, but he says he would like to drop a few pounds before the season.
- One of only three underclassmen to be invited out, and the only from the Midwest, Iowa based guard Ross Pierschbacher told us today he is looking to stay in Big Ten country. Most of his interest is coming from the region. He has offers from Iowa, Wisconsin, Nebraska and others, as well as strong interest from Michigan, Notre Dame and more.
