"I made the National Underclassmen Combine Top Prospect Camp," said Washington, who earned the coveted invitation by showing out at the Ultimate 100 in Atlanta.
"The Ultimate 100 was two weeks ago. It was 110 degrees out there. I ran a 4.1 shuttle, a 4.6 in the 40-yard dash, and I had a 29.5 inch vertical. I did real good in the one-on-one's. I'm pretty sure I'm going to the Top Prospect Camp (later this month in Norman, Oklahoma). I just have to see if we're driving or flying."
John Curtis went 14-0 last year and captured the school's 24th state championship: easily the most among prep football programs in Louisiana.
"We're putting in the work this summer," said Washington. "It's going real good. I like seeing how the other backs on our team work. Tevin Horton ('13) has power and speed. I see him as a fullback. Sherman Badie ('13) is the perfect all-around back.
"Brandon Porter ('13) has the ability to make a big play at anytime. Raekwon James ('14) is the fastest running back on the team. He's good in open space and also between the tackles. George Moreira ('14) is like my brother. As time goes by, he's going to be one of the best backs to ever come out of John Curtis."
Which college programs does Washington like?
"My favorite is Alabama. I camped there with Hunter Dale ('15 safety with offers from Arizona State and Tulane) and Richard Allen ('13 corner with offers from Tulane and McNeese State). All three of us made the 'All-Saban' team at the camp."
