Dillon (S.C.) High has numerous Division I prospects on their football team. Joe Blue is a rising junior for the Wildcats and a prospect that many college coaching staffs are pursuing aggressively.
“I have offers from South Carolina, Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, Florida, and Auburn,” said Joe Blue. “I am also hearing from LSU, Penn State, Clemson, Georgia, North Carolina, and N.C. State. I think LSU and N.C. State are close to offering.’’
The 6-foot, 230-pound linebacker plans to take some visits this fall.
“I am going to South Carolina and Clemson,” he said. “I could also head to Georgia Tech, N.C. State, Virginia Tech, LSU, and I’m going to try to make it to game at Alabama.”
Although several programs are recruiting him, one coach has really made an impression on the talented linebacker.
“I really like Coach (Shawn) Elliot at South Carolina,” said Blue. “He is a cool guy and keeps me laughing. He is reminds of my high school coach position coach. Off the field, he is a nice guy, but on the field he is all business. I like that about him and he seems like a straightforward guy.
Blue is a prospect whose stock will continue to rise. He had a great sophomore campaign, but look for him to be even better this fall. Last season, Blue had 115 tackles, six sacks, and two forced fumbles. He also plays running back for the Wildcats in goal-line situations and had 15 touchdowns. Blue bench presses 315 pounds, sqauts 450, and runs the 40-yard dash in 4.6 seconds.
