Westminster placekicker Harrison Butker became the 8th verbal commit in the Georgia Tech 2013…
Butker Returns to Tech
Although his time on Georgia Tech's football field was spent wearing a polo this weekend, 2013 K Harrison Butker took advantage of his visit to his soon-to-be stomping grounds. "It's been awhile since I visited Georgia Tech," the future Yellow Jacket said. "I came to talk to some of the coaches - just really building that relationship with the coaching staff. I also talked with some of the other commits and saw some of the current players." An upcoming senior at The Westminster Schools in Atlanta (GA), Butker committed to Tech last month and is now focused on helping in the recruiting process. "I've talked with the current commitments while they're here," Butker said. "But I'm definitely looking forward to trying to get some more people out of the camp to come to Tech." While Butker made it a priority to visit with the recruits competing in camp, he spent most of his time with the coaching staff and his family. "I didn't get to see much of the camp," he admitted. "But it looks like there was a lot of great talent." Though the quick trip down the road to Tech can hardly be considered "moving away," the determining factor for Butker was the Yellow Jacket family. "One of the biggest factors in choosing Tech was the coaches," Butker said. "They're great. They're just great guys. I can see myself having a great time with them. "I just really like the coaching staff a lot."
