Jerimiah Douchee is one of the top students at Hales Franciscan High School, so before even discussing him as a football player, his off the field resume should be eye catching enough for college coaches.
"He's a great kid," head coach Randall Townsel said. "He has a 4.3 GPA and a 24 on his ACT."
In addition, the 6'4, 240-lb Douchee is a member of Hales Franciscan's mock trial team, the renaissance team, placed in the spelling bee, and was part of the 2012 Moneythink Young Entrepreneurs Conference.
Did we mention that he's a pretty good football player too?
"He's being recruited as a defensive end. For us, he plays offensive tackle, defensive end, and sometimes a three technique."
Recently, Douchee was rewarded for all of his efforts with his first scholarship offer.
"Western Illinois University offered him. He went to Northwestern's camp. Western Michigan has him high on their board. Illinois State is high on interest and Southern Illinois is high on interest."
Still somewhat under the radar, there is no doubt more schools will be getting in on Douchee soon, and there is even less doubt, that no matter where he heads to, this true student-athlete has a bright future ahead of him.
