The Buckeye State is loaded with talented running back prospects in 2003. Columbus (Walnut Ridge) speedster Gary Russell talks about his current favorites.

“I don’t have any scholarship offers yet,” said running back Gary Russell.

“My favorites are Michigan, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Colorado, West Virginia, Syracuse and Indiana.

“I don’t have a leader right now. I’m listening to everyone that has an interest in me. I feel I’m a Marshall Faulk type running back. I can do it all.

“I plan on attending the Michigan State camp this week.”

Russell, a 5-foot-10, 205-pounder, from Columbus (Ohio) Walnut Ridge rushed for 1,800 yards and 28 touchdowns in 2002.

Russell was named all-district and all-city as a junior.
