Coach Steve Spurrier of South Carolina...

On the season outlook:

"Hopefully we can repeat our win total and have another big year. It won't be easy; we know that. If we want to have a good year, we have to play well. We have a lot of good players and the potential to be a really strong team."

On the expanded SEC:

"I look a lot like the Texas A&M players in my blazer today. But hey, we're all here and we're not playing them, so I'm rooting for them. I think both Texas A&M and Missouri will both compete very strongly and could surprise some teams. It wouldn't surprise me if they were in the hunt to win the division."

On team weaknesses:

"Last year, we finished third on defense behind Alabama and LSU. We finished fourth on offense. We haven't been as strong in special teams - we don't have the "Honey Badger" (LSU's Tyrann Mathieu) returning kicks, but I think we're an all-around team."

On Marcus Lattimore:

"It's been 34-35 weeks since his surgery. The trainers say he should be 100% on August 3-4 when the team reports and we start our workouts. He should be ready to go."

On Jadeveon Clowney:

"We expect Jadeveon to play more than he did last year. He rotated in and out with some other guys and wasn't on the field as much as hopefully he will be this year. Clowney is a young man with tremendous talent. We gotta turn him loose."

On opening day:

"We have tremendous respect for [Vanderbilt]. They're our next opponent. That's our next game. We'll talk about them more than anybody as we get ready for our season...we'll have to play well to beat Vandy."

On his coaching career:

"It's interesting, because when you're about 50, you figure you won't coach when you're 60. Then you're 60, and you say '3-4 more years.' Then you're 65, and you say '3-4 more years.' My job isn't that stressful. If you feel like you did when you were 40 and you're making good money (chuckles), you can keep coaching."

"My ultimate goal is to win an SEC Championship at South Carolina."
