"Originally I wanted to be done by the season," he admitted, "but I really want to take my time because I haven't gone on as many visits, so I'm looking to maybe take a couple official visits. I'm still open to all my offers. I haven't made a list. I just have to start to get out and visiting places, especially the ones who have offered."
That should be easier now that the other sport he excels in is dying down.
"I'm done with baseball for the summer. I might still be pitching a couple times, but I'm in camp for football, our team camp, and that's been going well. We'll take a week off and then come back for practice."
Heideman has nine offers, and will look to visit some of those schools soon.
"A lot of the coaches are on vacation, so I'm trying to keep in touch as much as I can. I'm going on a visit tomorrow to check out Miami Ohio. That will be the first visit of the summer, so I'm excited about that. I'll go on vacation the end of next week, and I haven't decided yet, but we're going out to Hilton Head, South Carolina, but maybe on the way there and back, we'll be stopping at some places."
There is still the possibility of that offer list growing too, as a few programs who haven't offered yet have continued to keep in contact.
"Purdue, Indiana, and Arizona. Coach Anae and I have developed a pretty good relationship. We're pretty close there. A lot of it now is, as Coach said, I'm high on board, but they have offers out, so we'd like to see where things go. It's close, but they've been showing a lot of interest. Miami (FL) has shown a lot of interest too."
