Getting To Know Monson
It's been a productive summer for under the radar wide receiver Anthonee Monson of Morris High (Ill.). "I think I have done pretty well," Monson said of his summer. "Keeping up with the competition doing my thing and doing what I have been taught." Monson has been focusing on continuing to learn his trade on the grid-iron. "Ever since the end of last season I started working out with Core 6 and I have learned so much," Monson said. "Coming into this season I want to transition what I have worked hard for all winter and all summer to get better as a player." And some of the ways that Monson have improved his game? "I have gotten faster, my route running has improved immensely, and my whole game is just overall better," Monson said. Several schools have begun to take notice of Monson. "I have been in contact with Eastern Illinois, Illinois State, and North Dakota State so far," Monson said. "I have been to their camps and I think I preformed well." But those weren't the only camps he traveled to this summer. "I went to Eastern Illinois, Iowa State, Illinois State, and Illinois camps," Monson said. "I had competition and I thats what I like, I really enjoyed the camps." Two of which he got to check out the campus as well. "Iowa State was amazing and their facilities were great and the college atmosphere was awesome," Monson said. "Illinois State was a smaller campus but you could tell they have a lot of pride in what they do there." As for his upcoming senior season, Monson has some pretty clear goals in mind. "I am going to make some big plays and really get out there and compete," Monson said. "And become better and better each week."
