Thomas takes in two in state camps
Richard Thomas profile "Man, it was hot today," said Thomas with a sigh. "We handled it though and everybody was working. "We were just in shells today, but some guys were ready to put the pads on. "I liked what I saw out of everybody today." The heat and humidity of the summer are nothing new to the versatile Thomas who spent a lot of time this off season in the Mississippi heat. "My last camps were Mississippi State and Southern Miss," said Thomas. "Big Dawg camp was a lot of fun. "Since I worked out as a safety last time, Coach Hughes wanted me to work with the linebackers. "It was all sort of new to me, so I didn't do as well as I could have. "At the last camp, I hit somebody coming over the middle. I didn't mean to hit him hard, but it just sort of happened. "Coach Hughes said he wanted to see me make that play as a linebacker." The following day, Thomas took in Southern Miss. "I had a very good time at Southern Miss and I like all of the coaches," said Thomas. "I worked out with the running backs there and that was fun. "Everything down there went pretty good." Thomas holds offers from Louisiana, Louisiana Tech and Ole Miss, but the one offer he really wants has remained elusive. "I really want to get an offer from (Mississippi) State," said Thomas. "I am going to wait and see what happens after the season. "If they don't offer me, then I will have to make a decision. "I hope they offer, but I know I am going to find the right place to go to school one way or another."
