After a junior season in which he rushed for 1,257 yards and 18 touchdowns, it would seem obvious that Granite City High's Kaprix Sloan would have scholarship offers by now, but having not been to any college camps, he stands without one for now.
"I have a lot of schools talking to me, but no offers," he said. "I haven't visited any schools yet. I was going to do that during or after the season."
Sloan says the schools he has heard from include Michigan State, Wisconsin, Missouri and others. He says the Spartans and Badgers have specifically told him he can attend a game in the fall.
"They told me I can have tickets to a game and they usually have a lot of people up for their homecoming games."
At 6'0, 195-lbs, Sloan consistently runs in the 4.5s and bench presses 185-lbs 18 times. He's just looking for an opportunity, no matter who it comes from.
"I don't really look at or just watch one team. I'm open to everybody," he explained.
And if this season is as productive as the last one, more and more schools should be open to him.
