Holmes recaps camp visits

Tyre'oune Holmes is known throughout Walthall County, Mississippi as "T-Man". The talented Holmes is looking to expand the footprint of his fame far beyond the tiny berg of Tylertown. Holmes recently attended three camps in three days in hopes of impressing some college recruiters.

"We drove a lot, but we went to some good camps," said Holmes. "We went to Mississippi State, Southern Miss and Louisiana.

"It was a lot of work, but it was worth it. We all had a lot of fun."

The first stop on the trip was the Big Dawg camp at Mississippi State.

"I had a great time up there," said Holmes. "I worked out at receiver and I learned a lot.

"I had a lot of fun and I feel like I did good at the camp.

"They told me that they are going to stay in touch with me during the season."

Saturday brought a trip to Hattiesburg, Mississippi and the campus of Southern Miss.

"I worked at corner at USM," said Holmes. "I had a good time and I feel like I did pretty good.

"The coaches there talk like they want to offer me. They told me that we should be able to have a deal together by the end of the season."

Sunday brought a trip to Acadiana and the campus of Louisiana.

"I had a great time in Lafayette," said Holmes. "That really went well.

"I got to go and talk with Coach Hud, the head coach. I really like him a lot.

"He is real down to earth and I like what he has to say.

"I have been in touch with them a lot and I feel like they are going to offer me before the end of the season.

"Coach Johnson is always telling me to keep thinking Red and Black."
