Johnson getting bigger
T.J. Johnson (Cape Coral, Fla./Island Coast) is one of the top athletes from southwest Florida. Johnson, now 5-foot-8 and 170-pounds, is so explosive with the ball in his hands offensively. On the other side of the ball he can play in the secondary. Johnson is also an outstanding return man. "Most teams like me as a slot receiver," Johnson said. "But I can also play cornerback. It doesn't matter to me. I just want to play wherever I can get on field the fastest." Johnson, a three-star running back, did nothing this summer but workout. He didn't camp anywhere or visit any schools. "I did put on 10 pounds though," Johnson said. According to Johnson he claims scholarship offers from teams like Miami, South Florida, Tennessee, Arizona, West Virginia, Notre Dame and Maryland. "I have 10 or 11 big offers," Johnson said. "Teams like Florida and Ohio State are recruiting me but have not offered. I guess I will be busy this fall making official visits. I hope to decide on those soon, probably around our first game or so. I am still considering everyone and all the schools are even."
