Jaylan Barbour had a huge sophomore campaign. Not surprisingly, college coaching staffs have taken notice.
“Recruiting is going well,” said Jaylan Barbour. “My latest offer was North Carolina and I really love them. I also have offers from Duke, ECU, Appalachian State, N.C. State, and South Carolina. Virginia and Clemson are also recruiting me.”
Although several schools are recruiting 5-foot-9, 170-pound prospect, two schools have made an early impression.
“I went to North Carolina’s camp and it impressed me a lot,” he said. “I also went to South Carolina’s spring game and they showed me love down there – but I haven’t visited the campus yet.”
The Monroe playmaker has already thought about possible trips this fall.
“I’m going to try to go to some games at South Carolina, North Carolina, and Duke,” Barbour said.
Barbour’s main focus is his upcoming season and the junior has set high goals.
“I want to help my team go to the state championship and I want us to put up 50 points per game on offense,” he said. “I also want to get 1,000 receiving yards and 20 touchdowns.”
Barbour said he was going to take his time with the recruiting process. Growing up, he was a North Carolina fan. Last season, Barbour had 865 receiving yards and 10 touchdown receptions. He bench presses 245 pounds, squats 345, and runs the 40-yard dash in 4.4 seconds.
