In this era of multiple recruiting web sites and prospects posting their own highlight videos on the internet, it's nearly impossible for a player to slip through the cracks anymore. Detroit Consortium senior Breon Briggs just might be the exception.
Briggs, 6-foot-4, 180-pounds, was dominant at last week's 7on7 tournament at Youngstown State. He was the top wide receiver prospect in attendance by far, and was an impossible cover for defensive backs. Briggs showed the ability to run by people, jump over defenders, and gain separation with his route-running.
Surprisingly, Briggs has no offers at this time and is not being recruited all that much. Hopefully that can change as his senior film is distributed.
"I do not have any offers yet, and I'm not real sure if anyone is really recruiting me or not," Briggs stated. "I can catch the football, and I think I proved that out here today. I have good speed and I have the size advantage over defensive backs. I'm working on becoming better at every part of my game, and I'm putting in extra work to get better."
"I did go to camps at Bowling Green and Toledo, and I thought I did well at both places," he added. "I'm not real sure what they thought of me. I would love to hear from Youngstown State, because they have great facilities and I really like it here. Toledo stays in contact with me a little bit, but I need to have a great season and see where things end up."
