Derrell Scott is one of the most dynamic playmakers in the 2014 class. On Friday, Scott added a huge ACC offer.

Derrell Scott picked up offer No. 9 on Friday. Florida State became the latest school to offer the Havelock (N.C.) High running back. Scott received the news from Havelock assistant coach Caleb King.

The offer means a lot to Scott.

“It means a lot,” he said. “It’s really important and special to me. Right now, all I’m going to say is they (Florida State) are up there.”

Scott said he was going to contact the Florida State coaching staff this afternoon. Along with the Seminoles, Scott also has offers from Duke, East Carolina, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Ohio State, South Carolina,Tennessee, and Virginia Tech. Last season, Scott rushed for over 1,800 yards and 25 touchdowns. He also averaged 11.5 yards per carry. Havelock went 16-0 last season and won the North Carolina 3-A State Championship.
