2015 Intro: Darian Roseboro

It is rare for a freshman to come in and dominate on a high school varsity football team. However, that is exactly what Darian Roseboro did last fall.

Last season, Lincolnton (N.C.) High defensive end Darian Roseboro exploded onto the North Carolina High School football scene. Roseboro wreaked havoc on opposing offenses all season long and played a big role in his team's run to the North Carolina 2-A State Championship game. College football coaching staffs are already showing interest in Roseboro.

"I have gotten letters from Clemson, Ohio State, and Tennessee," said Roseboro. "I have also gotten other looks from schools, but they have contacted my coach instead of sending me mail. Tennessee is recruiting me the hardest."

Over the summer, Roseboro was able to camp at three schools mentioned above.

"I went to camps at Clemson, Ohio State, and then a one-day camp at Tennessee," he said. "All three were nice. I really liked Urban Meyer and Dabo Sweeney."

The Lincolnton standout is already thinking about visits he would like to take this fall.

"I am going to Clemson and Ohio State," said Roseboro.

Roseboro is looking forward to his sophomore season.,

"I think this year, that I'm going to take my game to a new level," he said. "I've gotten faster and stronger than I was last year. I have also learned better technique."

The 6-foot-5, 265-pound sophomore wants to accomplish a lot this fall.

"Our team goals are to be stronger on defense and to make it to the state championship again," said Roseboro. "Individually, I want to get as many sacks as I can. I want to break our school's sack record which is 14."

Last fall, Roseboro had 107 tackles, seven sacks, and 12 tackles for loss. He was also named his team's defensive MVP in the state championship game. He bench presses 415 pounds, squats 435, and runs the 40-yard dash in 4.7 seconds.
