Six schools remain in the picture for Rumph and it appears two are fighting for that last official visit.
"I know I will visit Tennessee, Georgia, Arkansas, and Mississippi State when I start official visits, but I am not sure about the fifth one yet. I am thinking about Ole Miss or Texas Tech right now. Those are the main schools I am still considering."
Some felt Rumph may go back to his home state and play, but he is looking to stay away.
"I just don't want any distractions when I get to the Division 1 level. I know some want me to go to South Carolina and some don't, I just think it is best if I go for success away from there. I am just not feeling going back home to play right now."
Between now and the middle of December, the 6-foot-4, 215 pound wide receiver out of Holmes Community College will pick the school he plans to take his talents to.
It could happen in September or right before Christmas.
"I do not have to take all five of my official visits before I commit," he said. "If I feel right after my second visit, then I will commit. It could take them all, but I am just going to commit when I feel the time is right."
He is hearing it all from the different coaches he talks to now and he is ready to see it for himself.
"All of the coaches are doing a great job recruiting me. They all talk to me about their offense, how I would fit in, how I could grow as a person, who they have developed, and things like that.
"I just need to get out and see the schools now and talk more with the coaches in person. I want to go where I feel I will be at my best. This is a big decision because I want to make it to the NFL, so I am taking this very seriously."
Rumph is on track to graduate in December and he will then have three years to play two.
