Los Angeles (Calif.) Dorsey receiver Delvon Hardaway had been hearing from a few colleges throughout the past few months, but was still working hard as he patiently awaiting his first offer.
On Sunday, his efforts paid off, as he picked up an offer from San Jose State.
"It was exciting for me. I was one of those guys who didn't really get the early offers. I went down to their camp, had a good showing down there. The coaches told me I was number one on their board, they just had to go into meetings. When I got that call at 8 o'clock AM on Sunday morning, it was an emotional moment," he said.
Hardaway enjoyed his visit to the Spartans' campus and says the program is one in which he's very interested.
"I like the coaching staff. I really enjoy Coach [Terry] Malley, the receivers coach, and we also have Dorsey alumni who went there. Christopher Owens and Joe Gray, who's up there right now. The campus is beautiful, too, and I just enjoy the atmosphere up there," he said.
Hardaway is also being recruited by Colorado, Oregon, Colorado State, Nevada, and Washington State.
