Fallbrook (Calif.) offensive tackle Sean Dowling was invited this week to the Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl.
Dowling is a top five offensive tackle in the West in the class of 2013.
And for Dowling, it takes on a bigger meaning as his father is a Marine.
"It’s a huge honor to be a Semper Fi All-American and the biggest honor is to represent the country and the Marines," said Dowling. "My father is deployed right now, but I got to Skype with him and tell him. He will be home for two weeks and get to be at the game."
Fellow UCLA commits Eddie Printz, a quarterback out of Georgia, and offensive lineman Erik Bunte from Santa Margarita (Calif.), had previously been invited to the game, to be played at the Home Depot Center in January.
UCLA was represented by Justin Combs in the inaugural game last January.
