Southfield pulled off a 21-20 double overtime win over Detroit King on Saturday in what seemed improbable for much of a game that the Blue Jays were trailing in.
A big part of the win was junior defensive end Lawrence Marshall and the play of the rest of the defensive line.
"Shout out to my team, the d-line played good, and it's a wonderful feeling," he said. "We had to keep our faith and keep playing to the whistle."
The 6'3, 200-lb Marshall had 79 tackles, 15 sacks and four interceptions as a sophomore last season. He started this year off with eight tackles, a sack and two forced fumbles in the win on Saturday.
On the recruiting trail, interest is just beginning to heat up, but there are a couple schools who certainly know who he is.
"Michigan State is recruiting me and I don't know who else. I went to Akron camp and Sound Mind Sound Mind Body."
