Will Skyline set the tone early in 2012?
Back once again, Skyline against a team from The Woodlands. And know that these two know each other well enough. Despite the outcome, this should turn out to be a great game. Question is this the year that Skyline, led by Ole Miss commitment in quarterback Devante Kincade, takes it all the way to the finale? Who knows. But a good showing this weekend could set the tone for the early portion of the season.
Is Taylor ready to make that statement?
This was a busy off season for the guys down at Alief Taylor. College coaches were there in droves and plenty in the media practically set up tents outside the Lion locker room. Now, it’s time to bring it all together. Taylor opens at home against a Bellaire team that is itching to see how talented this team from Southwest Houston is. Led by running back Travorris Johnson (TCU) on offense and defensive end Torrodney Prevot (USC) on defense, Will Taylor send an early message?
Lots of fireworks in Arlington
Michigan and Alabama is not the only teams in Arlington that will be slugging it out. Not too far away, the hometown Martin squad will take on Desoto in a star-studded affair. There will be plenty of athletes between the two teams, but the guys who will likely get a favorable amount of touches will be Desoto’s Dontre Wilson and Martin’s Kyle Hicks. Speed, check. Agility, check. The ability to take it to the end zone at any given moment, of course. Speedster Wilson will be taking his talents to Oregon this same time next year while Hicks has made the early commitment to Texas. But as far as this weekend concerns, none of that matters. Both will be running long and hard to make sure their team comes away with the victory.

According to FOX Sports NEXT Kansas expert Aaron Cedeno, Darling has looked good during the off season. Will that momentum and fire carry over into the season?
