With football season well underway at the high school and college level, programs are beginning to offer prospects that they have had on their radar all summer long.
DaMari Scott went into the summer with three offers but is now up to five. His original offers were Fresno State, Boston College and San Diego State. Most recently, though, Scott reeled in offers from Colorado State and Nevada.
“It’s always good to get new offers,” Scott said. “I’m happy about all of them.”
Scott says he hasn’t started looking into any schools very heavily yet but plans to very soon.
“Recruiting should pick up in a pretty soon so I’m going to start looking into all the programs in a couple weeks,” he said. “With the season starting I’ve been pretty busy and everything but I’m going to really start researching pretty soon.”
Scott may not have an offer from them yet but one school in particular is standing out.
“Vanderbilt talks to me every day. I’m very interested in them and it sounds like they’re very interested in me so I think they’re standing out.”
“I think they’re just waiting to see a couple more games and film and an offer is right around the corner.”
Game film shouldn’t be hard to come by for Scott. He plays alongside LSU commit Hayden Rettig in a wide open spread offense that features four and five receivers each play.
“It’s great because our spread opens up the run and the run opens up the spread so it works perfectly and it’s fun to play in.”
Cathedral is 2-0 with wins over Locke (Ca) and Banning (Ca) this season. They play Pasadena (Ca) this Friday.
