Florida LB close to cutting down list
Lance Virgile is one of the top outside linebacker prospects in South Florida for the 2013 class and he started his season this past weekend. "We're 1-0," Virgile said. "We had a win against Columbus, 38-28. I think I did decent. I had a couple key plays but I'll be the first to admit that I have much more in me than what I did but sometimes that happens in the first game." Virgile, 6-foot-3 and 215 pounds, is being actively recruited by several BCS programs. "I've gotten calls this week from West Virginia, Wake Forest, UCF, and Houston," he said. "I'm still considering them all and have yet to narrow down my list. In about two or three weeks my list will be down. They all just talk about the interest they have and about setting up visits but none are completely set yet." Virgile, who also holds scholarship offers from schools like Louisville and N.C. State, talked about what he'll be looking for in a school. "That one school I fit into," he said. "That school that I know won't slip in the books and that one school that pushes me harder on the football field. The one that is best for me in the long run, rather than just the next four years." Virgile finished his junior season with 45 tackles, nine for loss, 12 sacks, two caused fumbles, one fumble recovery, and one interception.
