Peyton Barber entered the 2012 season with a chip on his shoulder after missing most of his junior year with an ankle injury. He exploded in his debut, churning out 225 yards in a performance long in the making.

Name: Peyton Barber
Milton (GA)
Running Back
5' 11", 225-pounds
Committed to Ole Miss over Georgia Tech (offer), Clemson (offer), North Carolina (offer), and Arizona State (offer Ranking: #60 RB evaluation verse Alpharetta: Peyton obviously had something to prove as he believes he is grossly under ranked by the recruiting services due to him missing the majority of his junior campaign with an ankle injury.

Barber faced his crosstown rival and scorched them for 225 rushing yards. In the highlights below he shows that he is way more than a ground-and-pound tailback that goes three yards in a cloud of dust. Barber beat his man to the edge on numerous occasions but does like to go more downhill than east-west. What impressed us the most is field vision and his ability to bounce off of the would-be tacklers and not slow down during the process.

The strength he possesses in his lower body is obvious but so is his speed and field awareness. It looks like Ole Miss is getting itself one heck of a steal in this Milton standout.
