Game Preview: Liberty v. Paradise Valley

Ryan Finley

Two of Arizona's top quarterbacks go head to head tonight

Preview: Phoenix (Az.) Paradise Valley @ Peoria (Az.) Liberty

Notes: Cox 7 Thursday Game of the Week.

Last week: Paradise Valley (2-0) beat Coconino (1-1) 14-13. Liberty (2-0) beat Glendale (0-2) 61-3.

Players to Watch: Paradise Valley- QB Ryan Finley (Boise State commit), OL Patrick Johnson, junior WR Jordan Brown,

Liberty- QB Tyler Rogers, OL Gage Gipson

Keys to a Paradise Valley victory: The Trojans have been in two tight games, beating Saguaro by 4 on a last second TD pass and sneaking by Coconino last week by 1. This game could be just as tight and these kids know how to stay in the game and finish. They are going to ask for another strong performance from Finley. PV is averaging under 2 yards per carry and needs to try and establish a running game.

Keys to a Liberty victory: This is going to be Liberty's first true test. They have beat Dysart and Glendale in dominating fashion. PV will be no push over, how will Coach Filleman's kids respond? Expect them to keep spreading the ball around. Rogers has been great this far, completing nearly 80% of his passes and hasn't thrown an INT. He has three receivers with over 100 yards on the year and thrown TDs to 5 different players. Liberty only as rushed the ball just 32 times this year but they have 3 backs averging over 8 yards per carry. Recommended Stories
