Elijah Hood is one of the top running backs in the 2014 class. The Charlotte (N.C.) Catholic star feels good about where his team is after three games.
“Our season is going pretty well,” said Hood. “We are 2-1. We lost a tough one 31-28 to Charlotte Country Day last week”
Hood, who is a three-year starter, said that more is expected of him this year. He also feels that he has really improved since last year.
“I’m expected to lead more this year – in practice – on the field –and in the classroom,” he said.
“This year, I’m more confident in my game. I think that’s going to help me reach my full potential.”
The 6-foot-1, 210-pound Hood is up 11 scholarship offers and looking forward to taking some college visits.
“I’ll probably check out some local games for sure – North Carolina, Wake Forest, South Carolina, Clemson, Virginia, and Virginia Tech.”
Despite all the attention from colleges, the Charlotte Catholic standout is focused on his season.
“My No. 1 goal is to win state (championship),” Hood said. “Individually, I just want to do better than I did last year.”
In his first three games, Hood has rushed for 461 yards and nine touchdowns on just 43 carries. Charlotte Catholic takes on Ashbrook tomorrow night at 7:30.
