Gardena (Calif.) athlete Tyree Simmons (5-11, 185), is still looking for his first offer, but he’s off to a good start in 2012.
“With Coach (Deon) Toliver now here (as Gardena’s new head coach), it’s a great offense,” said Simmons. “We took some time to adjust, but once we got it, we took to it.”
Simmons said a couple of Pac-12 schools are taking a look at him.
“I’m team first, and me second, but to be honest, I believe I’m worth offering a scholarship,” said Simmons. “Right now, Oregon State, Arizona and UCLA are schools I’m interested in and I really like Oregon.”
Simmons plays running back for Gardena, but will likely end up in the slot in college.
“I want to be recruited as an athlete, but I just want to play,” said Simmons. “I can’t be on the sidelines.”
