After rushing for 133 yards and a touchdown on Friday to lead Detroit Western to their first win of the season, 5'11, 180-lb sophomore running back Romello Ross participated in another first on Saturday, his first college game visit.
"It was my first time ever going to a Michigan game, so I was pretty fascinated. It was good."
Ross had a big freshman year and made noise this summer as one of the rising stars of the Maximum Exposure program in Detroit. As a result of being involved with the organization and the Sound Mind, Sound Body camp, he knew a few players out on the field.
"I met Norfleet and Terry [Richardson] and I know about James Ross and all of them, but Norfleet and Terry are the only two that I met."
Ross camped with Michigan this summer, and was able to talk to some of the coaches he met then on Saturday.
"I talked to Coach Jackson and Coach Chris [Singletary[ and a few other people. They were just telling me about Michigan and asked me how I liked the game. I'm pretty sure I'll be back at another Michigan game this year."
Because of his youth, Ross has not heard from many other schools, and did not camp anywhere else, but that should change over the next couple years, especially if his team's winning ways continue.
"We first got off to a slow start, but we're starting to pick it up"
