Peach State DT leaving the state?
Peach State defensive tackle Earnest Mitchell has had an extremely successful summer campus tour. He attended camps at Maryland, Florida State, and Vanderbilt. All three schools offered him a scholarship, and they made his list of favorites as well. "I have offers from Maryland, Vanderbilt, Florida State, Cincinnatti, North Carolina, and Nebraska," the big 6'1 290 pounder reported. "The coaches for the three schools I camped with are really nice. Maryland, Vanderbilt, and Florida State are my top 3. I like Arkansas as well, but I'm not positive they've offered." The Defensive Tackle is very close to a qualifying test grade, and he lists Business Management as a career path that he's very interested in right now. We asked Mitchell what he thought his best attribute was, and this is what he said, "My strength is my best skill. I'm usually faster than the offensive guards as well." Newnan High School struggled to a 4-6 record in 2002. With senior talent like Earnest Mitchell, Derrell Steagall and super athlete Demiko Goodman, they won't let that happen once again. Look for the Cougars to bounce back strong in 2003.
