Grand Blanc (Mich.) senior defensive end Daniel Davis announces his commitment and talks about his choice.

Daniel Davis, an explosive 6'3, 240-lb defensive end from Grand Blanc High has committed to Toledo over offers from Cincinnati, Bowling Green, Ball State, Buffalo, Akron, Central Michigan and others.

"I called my position coach and Coach Campbell. They were ecstatic. I didn't tell them exactly when I was going to commit, so they were happy."

Davis took a visit to Toledo recently, an official, which officially made his mind up as to where he should be.

"Toledo's been there for the long run. I love the program more than anywhere else I've been. The team's going in the right direction, and I want to be a part of that."

Davis' pass rushing ability gives him a chance to be an impact player for the Rocekts, possibly as soon as he steps on campus/

"Next year they have two senior defensive ends, so there's an opportunity next year and down the line. They haven't promised me anything. I have to work for everything I get."

Davis is Toledo's 14th commitment and third from the state of Michigan.
