Class of 2015
Federal Way (Wash.) High
5’7”, 150lbs/ Running Back
Recruiting: Offer from Washington. Interest from Pac-12 programs.
In just one half of football, Federal Way (Wash.) 2015 running back Chico McClatcher racked up 150 yards rushing on just nine carries and had one reception for 78 yards, with three total touchdowns.
“I just want to give it all up to the offensive line, most of my runs were just wide open,” said McClatcher. “We studied hard at practice and holes were just open.”
McClatcher received good news late last week when Washington became the first program to offer the talented sophomore.
“I was very excited, very excited,” said McClatcher. “It shows they are really interested in me. I am just going to keep working hard in school and grades, that’s all I got to worry about.”
While he hopes to take some time before making his decision, McClatcher admitted he was tempted to make a commitment.
“I talked to coach Sark and it just went from there,” said McClatcher. “I want to wait, but Washington is close to home and I want to stay close to my family and friends.”
The offer means that McClatcher’s dream of playing college football is a reality, but don’t expect him to lose any of his focus.
“Yeah, dream come true,” said McClatcher. “But I have to stay on top of my grades so the dream can be successful and complete.”
