Edwards Talks Recent Visit & More
The recruiting process is just heating up for Cincinnati (Ohio) Winton Woods defensive back Mike Edwards and Saturday allowed for another game day visit. "I visited Michigan this weekend," said Edwards. "It was cold and rainy and the game was a blowout, but it was my first time going to Michigan and I was impressed. I had been told it was one of the biggest stadiums and the atmosphere was great to see." During his visit Edwards did touch base with one of the Wolverines coaches and came away impressed. "I really like the coaches at Michigan," said Edwards. "They talked with me a lot and talked about the things they do. I spoke with (assistant) coach (Curt) Mallory and Coach (Mark) Smith is the coach who recruits my area but I did not get a chance to see him. They said he was going to come by, but I never saw him." With his team getting ready for what they hope will be a strong playoff run, Edwards is also hopeful to attend another game in the coming weeks. "I'm thinking about visiting West Virginia for their game against Oklahoma," said Edwards. If Edwards and his teammates make the playoffs they should be well prepared as they've played one of the tougher schedules in Southwest Ohio having played several bigger schools including the team they loss to on Friday night. "We played Elder and loss 28-14," said Edwards. "I did well and we were beating them, but they came back and put it away. Hopefully this helps us go far in the playoffs."
