Western Kentucky is a very good fit for South Fort Myers lineman Joe Fennell says his head coach Grant Readhead.

One of the big steals of this recruiting cycle from the Sunshine State is Western Kentucky landing three-star lineman Joe Fennell (Fort Myers, Fla./South Fort Myers).

“This was just a good fit academically for Joe,” said Grant Readhead, South Fort Myers coach. “It’s something he needed to do.”

Fennell, 6-foot-4 and 315-pounds, plays defensive tackle, offensive guard and offensive tackle for his high school team.

“Joe can play on either side of the ball and I am not so sure where he will end up at Western Kentucky,” Readhead said. “He has that sheer size and quickness. He’s a mountain that can change a game. For us, he plays wherever we need him.”
